Taking K-12 education to new heights
Promoting aero-science education, the Texas Partnership for Aero-science Education provides project-based, interdisciplinary educational experiences designed to build critical thinking, project management and problem solving skills.
A partnership between Texas Tech University, Midland College, Fredericksburg ISD and the Pecos County Westex Spaceport Development Corporation, the Texas Partnership in Aero-science Education collaborates on projects in the following areas of K-12 education.
- Curriculum development
- Teacher training
- After school and summer programs
- Research opportunities
- Industry partnerships
High school aero-science program
Driven by the collaboration of it's partners, the Texas Partnership for Aero-science Education is successfully developing a Principles of Technology I and II curriculum for high school educators.
Focused on engineering concepts and aero-science applications, this curriculum has been a great success during its development and pilot phases in the Fredericksburg Independent School District.
Students at Fredericksburg High School have already garnered national attention with their projects, and instructor, Brett Williams, continues to pioneer new techniques in aero-science education.
Center for Engineering Outreach Involvement
Working with our partners in the Texas Partnership for Aero-science Education, the Center for Engineering Outreach is collaborating on new ways to inspire tomorrow's engineers through space-related education.
We're working together to develop new professional development opportunities for teachers - like the rocketry workshops for K-12 teachers - along with classroom curriculum.
