December 2005 – During this special time of year, we're thankful for the many people that help us inspire and prepare tomorrow's engineers.

Fontenot Named to NASA Committee
November 14, 2005 – Dean Fontenot, Ph.D., a director of the Center for Engineering Outreach, has been named to the steering committee for the Revolutionary Aerospace Systems Concepts Academic Linkage (RASC-AL) program.

2006 Teacher Training Workshop Dates Announced
November 1, 2005 – Deciding how to announce our teacher training workshops to the whole state of Texas was a daunting challenge. However, choosing the largest science conference in the country seemed like a good place to start.

Pre-college Engineering Academy Teacher Named Presidential Award Finalist
October 18, 2005 – Nancy Owens Schunke, a science and engineering instructor at Dunbar Middle School, has been named a national finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.

Dunbar Academy Students Win State Essay & Poster Contest
September 1, 2005 – Two students from the Dunbar Middle School have received state-wide recognition for their engineering ideas from the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME).
