Why I'm a mentor

When I was in high school, I noticed most of my classmates weren't motivated to excel in math and science because it didn't seem applicable to them. I would hear them say, “When am I ever going to use this?“ I think the missing element in public education is hands-on learning with trained professionals and students. My goal through this program is to inspire students to pursue careers in math and science.

What I'm working on

Most civil engineering students focus on structural engineering. I have more of an interest in water and natural resources. I'd like to do more work in the area of water conservation, especially in agriculture.

As a Red Raider I'm a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a lifetime member of the National Future Farmers of America Alumni Association.

Why I like Texas Tech

I chose Texas Tech because it is close to home and has a reputable engineering college. I also wanted to attend Lubbock Christian University as well and Texas Tech provided me with a joint engineering degree.

What I plan to do

Following graduation, I plan on pursuing a master's degree in agriculture and biosystem engineering. My dream job would be working in the field of agriculture and developing and implementing better water conservation practices. I would also like to spend some time in a Third World country helping develop sustainable agriculture practices.
