2007 Engineering Outreach Mentor
Paula Irabor
“My siblings graduated from here, and I always heard how this school transforms students into engineers.”
Major: Civil Engineering
Hometown: Lagos, Nigeria
Why I'm a mentor
I'm a mentor to educate tomorrow's leaders in the vast growth of technology. Also I can help kids put their skills and knowledge to the test and realize their visions.
What I'm working on
A civil engineering student typically studies structure, construction and water resources. I am studying solids, fluids, engineering analysis and calculus. My research interest is going to be in structure and winds. I intend to become a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter here at Texas Tech.
As a Red Raider, I have the passion to pursue new things and understand why they work.
Why I like Texas Tech
My siblings graduated from here, and I always heard how this school transforms students into engineers. This university produces scholars and provides strength to engineering students to put their skills and knowledge to the test.
What I plan to do
After my first degree, I want to continue my education by getting my master's degree and Ph.D. My dream job is to become a professor and researcher so that I can help enlighten and educate communities about the changes in technology.
