Why I'm a mentor
When I was in high school, no one ever talked about what engineering was. People only told me that because I enjoyed math I should be an engineer.
I think being an Engineering Outreach Mentor can inspire and educate kids about a field they might not learn about in school. It's nice to be a part of that.
What I'm working on
Currently, I am in my last year at Texas Tech, which means I'm taking lots of hands-on mechanical engineering courses to get ready for the real word.
Right now I'm taking Design I, where we have the opportunity to research a project, give presentations and actually build our design.
I am interested in the medical applications of mechanical engineering, and I'm active in several student organizations including Brothers Under Christ.
Why I like Texas Tech
It really didn't seem like I choose Texas Tech, Texas Tech kind of chose me.
Despite the wind of West Texas, I love this school. The professors are excited to share their research with students.
What I plan to do
After graduation, I'd love to get a dream job, but I'm also thinking about medical school.
